Growing and Growing and Growing and...

At 6 and 1/2 weeks old, little Alex is not so little anymore. He just weighed in at 14 pounds. Granted, it's a little easier when you start out at 10 pounds, but seriously, I don't think that this kid could eat any more. I just broke out the six month clothes this week, becuase he is out of most of the 3 month clothes! Good thing most of his clothes are hand-me-downs from Gabe.

Go Blazers!

Game 2 is a Win! Perhaps Game 1 was such a miserable loss because my boys forgot to wear their jerseys. Gabe's new word: Boom Shaka-laka! Bring on Game 3.

Rollover

Believe it or not, Alex rolled over for the first, second, and third time last night. Not even six weeks old and he can go from tummy to back. Of course, he wouldn't repeat the act for the camera, but Dad did witness the second and third time. I'll post video if I can ever get him on camera.

More Smiles

OK, we have finally gotten some true smiles. By that, I mean ones that come without the farting. Enjoy.

Magic Eggs

Saturday morning Chris and I took the boys to an Easter Egg Hunt. Actually, I am not so sure why they call it a 'Hunt,' as it should be more like a 'Pick up off the ground as fast as you can.'
In any case there were tons of people, unfortunately. And as soon as the bell rang to get started and all the other kids ran in, Gabe said 'screw this' and ran out. To be fair, the grass was all packed with grown-ups bending over and filling up their kids baskets, so I am sure that view is completely unappealing when you are waist high. Gabe did manage to get a few eggs and was pleasantly surprised to find candy inside. I decided to keep the Easter fun rolling, so we went home to dye eggs.
See how Gabe is patiently waiting for the eggs to dry and even blowing on them to help speed the process?
I couldn't figure out why he wanted these dyed eggs so bad until they finally dried and I let him hold one. He immediately grabbed both sides and pulled apart like it was a plastic egg and shouted "There's no candy, it's yuck in there," as hard boiled eggs parts went flying all over the living room. Apparently our colorfully dyed eggs too closely resembled the candy ones from earlier in the day.

The following took place betweem 11:00 PM and 5:30 AM...

Sleep. That's right ladies and gentlemen. Sunday night, we had 6.5 hours of blissful, peaceful uninterrupted sleep. Well, at least Alex did. Me, I woke up at 3:30, 4:00, and 4:45 to make sure that he was still breathing and finally at 4:45, I was in so much pain that I had to pump some milk, for fear of exploding.
I also felt the need to wake Chris to tell him that Alex was still sleeping and to discuss how great that was, which I am sure that he though was counter-productive to getting sleep and all. In any case it was a good night and hopefully a precursor of more good nights to come.

Boys, Boys, Boys, Boys

Because I am still playing catch up, here are some photos of Julie, Glen, and Maddox's visit late last month. Imagine that, 4 boys under the age of 5 all in one house! Surprisingly, they boys were well behaved, didn't fight much, and cleaned up when asked. They older boys were so good, we decided to let them hold Alex for a few minutes, and they were very kind and gentle, and even all looked at the camera at the same time. What are the chances of that?

Spring Break Adventure #3

A day at the McMinnville park with Mom, Dad, and Alex. Apparently when you live in Forest Grove, the closet Wal-Mart is in McMinnville, and I just can't let a good gift card go to waste. We also stopped by the Linfield bookstore and got Gabe his first football jersey. We are so ready for September!
