A Day at the Zoo

A year ago....

Sometimes I can't resist going through my old photos. This was one of my favorites from last April. If I could fit Gabe in the bouncy now, you'd have a comparison, but he wanted nothing of that! Of course, Gabe is fully mobile now, so we can hardly keep up with him. Since he got his new kicks from Nana and Papa a few weeks ago he has been climbing mountains (OK, maybe just our sloped driveway). But the grin on his face makes it looks like he just hiked Mount Everest.

Mmmmm...Yogurt

Is there anything funnier than a kid learning to eat? Unfortunately, cleaning yogurt off of the floor, window, lampshade, etc. is not so fun. Thank goodness summer is coming, at least I can hose off the deck. It's not so easy to hose off the carpet.

Multi-tasking

At least he is just reading and driving. You should have seen him earlier when he had his "baby crack-berry" in his right hand. I wonder where he could have learned such behavior?

Swim Diapers

I learned a lesson this week that I am sure most mothers learn eventually. Swim diapers are not equal to regular diapers. We had our first swim lesson this Saturday, which went surprisingly well. And no, I didn't put a huggies on my kid and throw him in the pool, quite the opposite. I remembered to pack everything, except for a diaper for after swim lessons. But I packed 2 swim diapers, so no big deal, right. I'll just throw on a swim diaper for the ride home.
Fast forward 30 minutes, and Gabe is walking across the kitchen , bow-legged, spilling pee all over the floor. You would think that a diaper that cost almost $1 apiece could multitask in and out of the pool. Thank God for the warm weather that allowed Gabe to wander around Grandma and Grandpa's backyard wearing only his new shoes while we scavenged for some dry clothes. Wish I had my camera.
